A QR code that's yours, with nothing in between

Many free QR makers route your code through their own short link, so it breaks or shows ads when they change plans. This one doesn't. The QR code holds your link or text directly, it never expires, and it works without us.

Everything happens in your browser: the text you enter and the logo you add are never uploaded. Logos are placed on a small pad in the center and the code uses the highest error correction, so phones still read it even with part of it covered.

How to make a QR code

  1. 1

    Enter your link or text

Paste a URL, a phone number, a Wi-Fi note or any text: up to 1,000 characters for links and English text, about 770 Chinese characters, about 420 with a logo.

  2. 2

    Style it

Pick dark and light colors, add your logo and choose the download size.

  3. 3

    Test and download

Scan the preview with your phone, then download PNG for screens or SVG for print.

What makes a QR code scan reliably

The tool handles these for you. Keep them in mind when you change colors or add a logo.

  1. 1Contrast

    dark #111111 on light #FFFFFF

Dark modules on a light background. The tool warns when colors are too close or inverted.

  2. 2Quiet zone

    2-module margin

The empty border scanners use to find the code. Don't crop it off.

  3. 3Error correction

    Level H with a logo, M without

Higher levels survive a logo or a scratch at the cost of denser modules.

  4. 4Logo size

    about 22% of the width

Large enough to recognize, small enough to keep the code readable.

  5. 5Content length

    short links beat long ones

Less data means bigger modules that scan from farther away.

  6. 6Format

SVG for print, PNG for screens

SVG stays sharp at any size; PNG is easiest to drop into slides and posts.

Tips before you print

  • Always test-scan

Scan the final file with two different phones before printing a batch.

  • Print it big enough

Keep printed codes at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, larger if people scan from a distance.

  • Shorten long links

A shorter URL makes a simpler code that scans faster.

  • Keep the logo simple

A square, high-contrast logo reads better than a detailed one.

  • Don't invert colors

Light-on-dark codes fail on many scanners. Keep the background lighter.

  • Use the link you control

Point to a page you can update, so you can change the destination without reprinting.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes, completely. No sign-up, no limits, no watermark, and your QR codes never expire.

Do the QR codes expire?

No. The code contains your link or text directly, not a redirect through our servers, so it keeps working as long as your link does.

Can I add a logo?

Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG up to 2 MB. It's placed in the center on a small pad, and the code switches to the highest error correction so it still scans.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The QR code and the logo are generated in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server.

Which format should I download?

SVG for print and anything that gets resized, PNG for websites, slides and chat apps.

Why won't my QR code scan?

Usually the colors are too close or inverted, the logo is too large, or the quiet zone was cropped. Use dark on light, keep the margin and test with your phone.
