What does an AI image prompt generator do?

Image models draw what you describe, and they fill every gap with a guess. A short idea like "a shiba inu in Tokyo at night" leaves the medium, the camera angle, the light and the colors to chance, so results vary wildly from one try to the next.

This tool keeps everything you asked for and fills in the rest the way an experienced prompt writer would: what kind of picture it is, where the subject sits, where the light comes from, which colors lead, and which words appear on a poster. You get one clear paragraph you can read, edit and reuse in any modern image model.

How to write an AI image prompt in seconds

  1. 1

    Describe your idea

Write what you want to see in a sentence or two, in English or Chinese. Mention any text that should appear in the image.

  2. 2

    Pick a style and ratio

Choose photo, anime, illustration, 3D or poster, or leave it on Auto. Pick the aspect ratio you plan to generate at.

  3. 3

    Generate, edit and use it

Change any sentence you like, copy the prompt, or send it straight to an image model to generate the picture.

What a good image prompt contains

Every prompt this tool writes covers these six parts, in this order. Use the same checklist when you write prompts yourself.

  1. 1Medium

    Realistic night street photograph

Photo, anime, 3D render, watercolor or poster. It sets the whole look.

  2. 2Subject

a small shiba inu in a yellow raincoat, sitting and looking up

Count, appearance, pose and expression. Specific beats generic.

  3. 3Setting

a narrow Tokyo alley with wet asphalt and vending machines

Where it happens, from foreground to background.

  4. 4Composition

low angle, dog in the lower third, shallow depth of field

Shot size, camera height and where things sit in the frame.

  5. 5Lighting

pink and cyan neon from the left, reflections in puddles

    Light source, direction and softness.

  6. 6Color and text

magenta and teal palette; sign reading "OPEN" in bold sans

Main colors and mood, plus any exact words in quotes.

Styles you can choose

Photo

Realistic photographs with a believable camera look, natural materials and real light. Good for products, food, travel and portraits.

Anime

Clean line art, cel shading and expressive characters, for character art, wallpapers and story scenes.

Illustration

Hand-drawn or digital illustration, from children's book watercolor to flat editorial art.

3D

Polished 3D renders with soft studio light, for icons, mascots, toys and product concepts.

Poster

Graphic layouts with headline, subtext and regions placed exactly, for events, sales and social posts.

Auto

Lets the tool pick the medium that fits your idea best. A good start when you're not sure.

Tips for better results

  • Say what matters most first

Put the subject and the one detail you care about at the start of your idea. The prompt keeps it front and center.

  • Quote the words you want

For posters and signs, write the exact text in quotes. The prompt places it and tells the model to add nothing else.

  • Match the aspect ratio

Generate at the same ratio you picked here. A wide scene squeezed into a square loses its composition.

  • Edit one sentence at a time

If one detail comes out wrong, change only that sentence and keep the rest of the prompt.

  • Keep the style, swap the subject

Reuse a prompt you like and replace only the subject sentence to make a matching set.

  • Skip filler words

8K, masterpiece and ultra detailed add nothing. Concrete materials and light do the work.

Frequently asked questions

Is this AI image prompt generator free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark. You get 20 successful prompts every 24 hours, and failed attempts don't count.

Which image models do the prompts work with?

The prompts are plain descriptive language, so they work in GPT Image, Nano Banana, Seedream, FLUX and Midjourney. In Midjourney, add --ar with your ratio at the end.

Can I write my idea in Chinese?

Yes. Write in English or Chinese. The prompt comes out in the language of this page, and any text you want shown in the image stays exactly as you wrote it.

How is this different from image to prompt?

This tool starts from words: you describe an idea and get a prompt. Image to Prompt starts from a picture you already have and writes the prompt that recreates it.

Can I generate the image right after?

Yes. Select the generate button and the prompt and aspect ratio are filled in on the GPT Image 2.5 model page, ready to run.

Do you store my ideas?

No. Your idea is sent to the language model only to write this prompt and is not saved.

Can I use this in my own app?

Yes. Create a HiAPI API key and call any text model through the OpenAI-compatible /v1/chat/completions endpoint, then generate images through the same API.
