Hailuo 2.3 API Pricing: Standard vs Fast

TL;DR

Hailuo 2.3 (by MiniMax) is billed per clip, not per second on HiAPI: standard is $0.40 for 6 seconds and $0.80 for 10 seconds; Hailuo 2.3 Fast is $0.27 and $0.46.
Standard has text-to-video and image-to-video at the same price. Fast is image-to-video only.
There is no resolution setting, so duration is the only thing that changes the price. Failed tasks are not charged.

Per second, standard works out to about $0.067 at 6 seconds and $0.08 at 10 seconds. Fast is $0.045 and $0.046. On standard, the 6-second tier is the better deal; on Fast, both tiers cost about the same per second.

Hailuo 2.3 vs Hailuo 2.3 Fast

You have a start image and need volume: use Fast. A 6-second clip costs about a third less than standard, and the inputs are the same as standard image-to-video (prompt, image_url, duration), so prompts carry over unchanged.
Big body movement, cloth, splashing water: use standard. Physical motion is Hailuo's strength, and standard handles complex action more reliably.
Text only, no image: standard text-to-video is your only option. Fast has no text-to-video endpoint on HiAPI.

A common workflow is to iterate on prompts with Fast, then re-render the keepers on standard.

Hailuo 2.3 isn't the cheapest, but it is the easiest to budget: there is no resolution tier, and anything up to 10 seconds has one of two prices.

duration accepts only "6" or "10" (default "6"), and the price follows those two tiers.
image_url is a single image URL: JPEG, PNG, or WebP. SVG is not supported.
prompt_optimizer is on by default and rewrites your prompt. Set it to false to use your prompt exactly as written.
The call returns a taskId. Poll GET /v1/tasks/{taskId} for the result, and download output[0].url right away, since it is a temporary link.
