TL;DR

  • Wan 3.0 Prime (wan3.0-video-prime), the fast tier of Alibaba's Wan 3.0, is billed per second on HiAPI: $0.0875 at 480P, $0.18 at 720P, and $0.36 at 1080P. A 5-second 480P clip costs $0.4375.
  • Sound costs nothing extra (audio is on by default), and clips run 2–30 seconds.
  • resolution defaults to 1080P, so if you leave it out you pay $0.36 per second. Set 480P while you iterate. Failed tasks are not charged.

$10 covers about 114 seconds at 480P, roughly twenty-two 5-second clips. Text-to-video, first/last frame, reference images, and reference audio all bill at these rates, with or without sound.

What you get

A Prime text-to-video clip, 480P, 5 seconds:

A single scoop of pistachio gelato in a frosted coupe glass on a pale marble
counter; slow 180-degree orbit as a bead of condensation slides down the glass,
soft window light from the left, shallow depth of field, warm late-afternoon
tones, faint steam curling from an espresso cup just behind in soft focus.

Prime vs Wan 3.0 standard vs Wan 2.7

Wan 3.0 Prime wan3.0-video-prime$0.0875$0.18$0.362–30 sFaster tier; no reference video input
Wan 3.0 wan3.0-videonot listed$0.08$0.162–30 sSame inputs and output spec; accepts reference videos
Wan 2.7 wan2.7-video/*not available$0.10$0.1672–15 sSeparate text-to-video and image-to-video endpoints

What this means:

  • Prime costs more than standard Wan 3.0: 2.25× per second at both 720P and 1080P. The extra buys generation speed. If you're not in a hurry and don't need 480P, standard is cheaper.
  • Only Prime lists a 480P price: at $0.0875 per second, it's a cheap way to draft.
  • Reference videos need standard Wan 3.0: Prime doesn't accept them.

For how the two generations compare on the same prompts, see Wan 3.0 vs Wan 2.7.

Ways to spend less

  • Draft at 480P: $0.4375 for 5 seconds, then re-run the keeper at 720P or 1080P with the same prompt.
  • Always set resolution: the default is 1080P, so one forgotten field turns a 5-second draft into $1.80.
  • Set duration on purpose: it defaults to 5 seconds and goes up to 30, and cost scales linearly.
  • Use standard Wan 3.0 when speed doesn't matter: 5 seconds at 720P is $0.40 there versus $0.90 on Prime.

FAQ

Does sound cost extra?

No. Prime pricing depends only on resolution and duration, and audio is on by default.

Are reference images or audio charged?

Not separately. You pay per second of output at the chosen resolution.

Am I charged for failed tasks?

No. You pay only for videos that generate successfully.

Is Prime's output quality the same as standard Wan 3.0?

The docs describe the same inputs and output spec, with Prime generating faster.
