TL;DR
- If what you actually need from Creatify is Boreal clips generated from code, you can call the same model on HiAPI as
creatify-boreal. It is pay-as-you-go per requested second, with no $99/month API plan. - At list prices, HiAPI's per-second rate is a little lower than Creatify's API plans on every Boreal resolution. The bigger gap shows up on short clips, because Creatify bills Boreal in 10-second blocks. HiAPI bills the seconds you request.
- HiAPI does not replace Creatify's ad toolchain. URL-to-Video, the avatar library, Aurora and templates stay on Creatify. Migrate the Boreal generation step only, not the whole workflow.
Who this page is for
Creatify sells two things: a web app for building ads, and a credit-based API. Boreal is Creatify's own short-form video model, built for product and UGC-style clips. It is also available on HiAPI as a single task model.
This page answers one question: can you move Boreal generation off a Creatify subscription and onto a metered API without breaking your pipeline? You'll find a cost comparison based on both companies' public numbers, one real HiAPI run, and a migration checklist. It does not rank output quality, because we did not render the same prompt on both platforms.
Cost: Creatify API plans vs HiAPI pay-as-you-go
Creatify figures come from Creatify's public pricing and API billing pages, checked November 2026. HiAPI figures come from the live HiAPI pricing page.
| Creatify API Starter | Creatify API Pro | HiAPI creatify-boreal | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry cost | $99/month for 500 credits | $299/month for 2,000 credits | No plan, pay per task |
| Boreal 720p | 1 credit per 10 s (≈ $0.0198/s) | ≈ $0.0150/s | $0.0145/s |
| Boreal 1080p | 3 credits per 10 s (≈ $0.0594/s) | ≈ $0.0449/s | $0.043/s |
| Boreal 2K | 12 credits per 10 s (≈ $0.2376/s) | ≈ $0.1794/s | $0.1715/s |
| Billing unit | 10-second increments | 10-second increments | Requested seconds (1–20) |
The Creatify per-second figures are our own math: plan price ÷ credits, then spread across 10 seconds. Creatify's Boreal launch page advertises "about a cent per second". Its API billing table is what API subscribers are actually charged, so that table is what we compare against.
What this means for typical ad lengths at 720p:
| Clip | Creatify API (billed as) | HiAPI |
|---|---|---|
| 6 s | one 10 s block, ≈ $0.15–$0.20 | 6 × $0.0145 = $0.087 |
| 10 s | one 10 s block, ≈ $0.15–$0.20 | $0.145 |
| 15 s | two 10 s blocks, ≈ $0.30–$0.40 | $0.2175 |
When the subscription still wins: if you already spend most of a Creatify API plan every month on Avatar, URL-to-Video or Aurora jobs, using the leftover credits for Boreal costs you nothing extra. The per-second difference only matters when Boreal is the main reason you're paying.
What moves to HiAPI, and what stays on Creatify
| Need | Creatify | HiAPI |
|---|---|---|
| Boreal text-to-video | Yes | Yes |
| Boreal image-to-video (product photo → clip) | Yes | Yes, image_url |
| Boreal driven by your own narration audio | Not listed on Creatify's Boreal page | Yes, audio_url |
| URL-to-Video ads, avatar library, templates, Aurora | Yes | No |
| Other video models under the same key | Creatify's own catalog | Kling, Seedance, Wan, HeyGen and more in the model marketplace |
If your ads depend on Creatify's stock avatars or its URL-to-ad scraper, keep those jobs on Creatify. If you mostly generate short product and UGC-style scenes from your own prompts and photos, those jobs can move. For a spoken-portrait workflow rather than scene generation, see Creatify Boreal vs HeyGen Avatar IV.
A real migration test: product photo → 6-second vertical ad
We generated this product photo for the test (no logo, no text) and passed it to Boreal as image_url:

What came back (run on 2026-11-05):
- The create call returned a
taskIdimmediately. The task's owncreated→completedtimestamps were 24 seconds apart, and our 5-second poll loop sawsuccessabout 45 seconds after submit. Queue time varies: an earlier 4-second text-only Boreal run on HiAPI spent several minutes in processing, so give your poller a timeout of at least 10 minutes. - Output: MP4, H.264 720×1280, 6.04 s, with an AAC audio track. List cost: 6 × $0.0145 = $0.087.
- Fidelity: the bottle's color, matte finish, proportions, towel and table grain all held. The slow push-in happened as asked.
- Miss: the hand lifts the cap off and carries it out of frame instead of setting it down beside the bottle. Boreal followed the first action and dropped the second. If a beat matters, give it its own short clip rather than chaining two actions into six seconds.
For more prompt patterns (UGC pitch, close-ups, square lifestyle), see the Boreal prompt guide.
Migration checklist
- Map the inputs. On HiAPI, everything goes inside
input:prompt(required),image_url,audio_url,negative_prompt,resolution(720p|1080p|2k),aspect_ratio(auto,16:9,9:16,1:1,4:3,3:4) andduration(an integer from 1 to 20). - Switch auth. HiAPI uses
Authorization: Bearer <your HiAPI key>. The Quick Start covers key creation. - Keep your async pattern. Submit with
POST /v1/tasks, then pollGET /v1/tasks/{taskId}untilstatusissuccessorfail. The full submit, poll and download flow is in How to Use the Creatify Boreal API. - Validate early, but also handle failures that only show up when polling. In our tests,
duration: 25was rejected at create with HTTP 400invalid input: duration: maximum: got 25, want 20. An unreachableaudio_urlwas different: create returned 200, and the task flipped tofailwithINVALID_REQUESTabout 3 seconds later. Treat a failed poll as a normal outcome, not an exception. - Copy outputs right away. The result URL is a temporary link with an
expireAttimestamp, about 7 days out in our run. Download the MP4 into your own storage before it expires. - Re-budget. Replace "credits per 10 seconds" with "requested seconds × resolution rate". A 6 s clip is billed as 6 s, so stop padding prompts to 10 s just to use up a credit block. See the Boreal pricing breakdown.
- Run one A/B batch before switching over. Render 5–10 of your existing Creatify prompts on HiAPI with the same reference images, and review them yourself. Our single run says nothing about how your prompts will look.
FAQ
Is creatify-boreal on HiAPI the same model Creatify sells?
It is listed on HiAPI under the Creatify vendor as Creatify Boreal, with text-to-video, image-to-video and audio-to-video modes. We have not run identical prompts on both platforms, so we make no output-equivalence claim beyond that.
Do I need a subscription on HiAPI? No. You top up and are charged per task. See the pricing page.
Is HiAPI cheaper than Creatify for Boreal? At list prices it is slightly cheaper per second on all three resolutions, and noticeably cheaper on clips that aren't a multiple of 10 seconds. If unused Creatify credits would otherwise go to waste, they are effectively free.
Can HiAPI replace Creatify's URL-to-Video or avatar products? No. Only the Boreal model is available. For talking-portrait videos, HiAPI offers other models, such as HeyGen Avatar IV.
What is the longest Boreal clip per request? 20 seconds. Longer values are rejected with HTTP 400 at create.
